Your natal chart, actually calculated
Astrology reads the sky as it stood at your birth. We calculate your chart from an astronomical ephemeris — the real positions of the Sun, Moon and planets — and write the reading from what your chart actually contains. This is separate from numerology, which works from your name and birthday instead.
What a natal chart is
A map of the sky for one moment and one place. Each planet describes a function (identity, feeling, thinking, love, drive); the sign describes its style; the house describes the area of life it works through; the aspects describe how those functions get along.
Why birth time matters
The Rising sign, the houses and the MC/IC depend on the exact minute and the location — they move roughly one degree every four minutes. If you do not know your birth time, say so: we calculate everything that is still valid and leave those parts out instead of guessing.
Astrology is not numerology
Numerology derives patterns from the letters of your name and the digits of your birthday. Astrology calculates planetary positions from date, time and place. They are different traditions with different methods, and on this site they are different products.
What you receive
Inside your chart reading
- Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto by sign and degree, with retrograde motion noted.
- Your placements across the twelve tropical zodiac signs, plus an element and modality balance read as synthesis rather than as a substitute for the chart.
- Ascendant, Descendant, MC and IC with whole-sign houses — included only when an exact birth time and birthplace are supplied.
- Major aspects — conjunction and opposition within 8°, trine and square within 7°, sextile within 5° — applied consistently to every pair.
- Written sections on core identity, emotional style, communication, love and relating, motivation, growth and challenge, and (with a birth time) career and home life.
- Your chart wheel, plus a placement table and an aspect list you can check against any other ephemeris.
How the chart is calculated: apparent geocentric positions in the tropical zodiac from the astronomy-engine ephemeris library, houses in the whole-sign system, and your local birth time converted to UTC using the timezone rules that were in force on that date. Placements are stored with your order, so the chart you receive never changes.
